Sewing Circles are a series of free textile workshops led by visual artist Janice Murray.

Artefacts and images from the home and Sekers Fabric archive will act as prompts for the sharing of memories relating to women’s creativity in the home. Participants will have the opportunity to share existing skills and gain new ones, creating their own original textile art expressing their memories, thoughts and feelings.

Handpicked Productions are working with Research Fellow Rachel Carroll from Teesside University, who will take part in the workshops as a Participant Observer.

The project will run over four weeks and culminate in an exhibition and celebration of your work and achievements.
